Affiliations & Mission Partnerships

Since it’s launch in 1925, the goal of the Cooperative Program has been supported by Southern Baptist Churches all across the United States to accomplish the our call – The Great Commission! Here at Southside, we understand the importance of working together to see the Gospel spread to as many people as possible! Through your giving, we are able to help advance the Gospel here in Atoka, across the state of Oklahoma, throughout the United States, and around the world! Southside Baptist Church is an autonomous local church. This means that we are not subject to control from any local, state, or national organization. However, we choose to be involved at the local, state, and national level of Southern Baptist Ministry. At the local level, we are a member of the Atoka-Coal Baptist Association. This association is made up of 24 churches in Atoka and Coal Counties and is led by Director of Missions Randy Hurt!

At the state level, we are a member of Oklahoma Baptists (formerly the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma). We are thankful to have Dr. Todd Fisher as the Executive Director/Treasurer and ask that you would pray for him as he leads!

At the national level, we are members of the Southern Baptist Convention. The current president of the SBC is Clint Pressley of North Carolina.

At Southside Baptist Church, we strive to live out the Great Commission daily! We also want to be a church that equips others and offers opportunities to be involved in advancing the Gospel both here at home and across the globe!

Through our church, people are able to be involved in local missions through local school Bible Clubs, Vacation Bible School, Trunk or Treat, Easter Trunk Hop, and more! We also offer mission trip opportunities in the summer. This summer, we will be serving in Indiana! We also are partnered with Will Sandmann of the Southeastern Oklahoma State University BCM as he serves on staff as a campus missionary. Finally, we are partnered with Pastor Norberto de la Cruz of Grace Baptist Church in Teloloapan, Guerrero, Mexico.

Through the Atoka-Coal Baptist Association, we are able to offer other mission trip opportunities as well! There are trips to the Pacific Northwest (Seattle Area), potentially to Southern California, and also to Guerrero, Mexico!
